Spring … the time when weather becomes warmer, leaves, plants and flowers blossom and everything is generally more colourful!
Well, Spring officially starts on the 20th of March and ends on the 20th of June but why not get ready to embrace one of the best times of the year? We for sure are done with winter!

FUN IDEAS FOR SPRING
Words by the Water Festival (3 – 12 March)
The ten-day program of literary events where writers and readers get together to share the pleasure of books, words and ideas in one of the UK’s most scenic protected areas, the Lake District. Surrounded by the lake you can enjoy visitor talks, discussions, book launches and much more.

Bristol International Jazz & Blues festival (16 – 19 March 2017)
You can enjoy over 40 concerts, workshops and jam sessions in Bristol in March. The line-up is on their website, but it is definitely for people who are feeling the jazz. Bristol is fast becoming the New Orleans of the UK.
London Marathon (23 April 2017)
This famous London Marathon. This has to be something that is on everyone’s to do list. Almost 40 000 runners take to the streets of the capital. The marathon is 26 miles long. There is also an EXPO. The entry is free, so you can bring your family and friends

Cheltenham Jazz Festival (26 April – 1 May 2017)
Swing into springtime in style. From traditional sounds to contemporary jazz, sample musical tasters in the impressive Big Top and discover the culinary delights that the Festival’s tented village in Montpellier Gardens has to offer.

Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink (29 April – 1 May)
Visitors come from far and wide to buy delicious goodies, watch top chefs live cook and to hear some live music. This festival is perfect for food and drink lover.
Exeter Castle Courtyard will be filled with hot food stalls and stand selling local beers, ales and wines. Enjoy a delicious lunch while you will be entertained by local musicians.

Downton Cuckoo Fair Welcome Spring (29 April 2017)
You will find a family-friendly atmosphere at Downton Cuckoo Fair. Traditional With Maypole and country dancing, Downton comes alive for the whole weekend. There is a wide range of entertainment and hot food during the fair. It is a all-weather event and for all ages.

Norfolk & Norwich Festival
Music, Theatre, Dance, Circus, Visual Art, Outdoor Events, etc.
For 17 days during May, Norwich becomes a hotbed of international art and performance creating a plethora of entertainment for all ages. Over sixteen packed days the Festival presents more than 100 performances featuring a superb line-up of companies and ensembles from all over the world. Woolsack racing (29th May 2017)
Want to put your fitness to the test? Want to work those glutes? Then why not participate in the Woolsack Race? Teams are running up the steep Gumstool Hill, carrying a large sack of sheep’s clothing. Men carry a 27kg sack, women a 16kg sack. You can enter a team for £20.

Annual Bath Half Marathon
If you like running, this is the only half marathon to take place in a UNESCO World Heritage city. The Bath Half has the greatest start line the UK. Running over 13 miles is no easy feat, and a big treat is in order.

Liverpool Sound City
The UK’s largest international music, digital and film festival.
The line-up shows over 360 bands and artists are headed for the big time playing in 25 venues. It is more than just live music, they are bringing loads of exciting, interactive and engaging arts installations and performances to the festival site on both ways. It is also the 10th anniversary of the Sound City festival. So you can expect something big.
Chippenham Folk Festival (26 – 29 May 2017)
The country’s finest examples of a traditional folk festival. The Chippenham Folk Festival features the very best in English traditional music and dance with an emphasis on participation and education. The festival exists since 1972. It has a unique brand and a wide geographic draw.
