Unfortunately, this post is not going to be a happy post for the Bournemouth locals. Guys, the summer is going. It is going slowly, but it is going.
As the Lana del Rey’s lyrics song says, “I got that summertime, summertime sadness”. Hundreds of memories, which we left behind this bright summer. The first summer that you study abroad, great barbecues on Bournemouth Pier’s surroundings area with your new friends or work colleagues, those long walks along the seafront watching the amazing landscape, those friends who you have met from the other countries going back home, or what about that special girl or guy who you fell in love with and who is the apple of your eyes? There will be a huge amount of unforgettable memories that you will have on top of your mind for a while at least.
Anyway, it is not too late yet! The last sun rays are still shining and the last events of the summer are not finished yet. So please be aware of the free activities which Bournemouth offers to its visitors and locals. One of the most attractive events is the Candlelight Nights, which have been taking place in the summer on selected dates: 30th July 2014, 6th August 2014, 13th August 2014 and 20th August 2014. So, the last one was yesterday. If you missed one of these magic nights in the summer, you will have another chance to see it next summer.
Apart from the Candlelight Nights that we were talking about in older posts, another of the most beautiful activities that you can see on the seafront is the fireworks display, which is a spectacular show, lighting up the sky over the Pier and reflecting in the water. These are some of the highlights of the Bournemouth´s summer. You can watch the fireworks from so many places, such as the beach, the seafront, the Pier and the cliffs. As the summer is nearly finished, there are only three more displays:
-Friday 22nd August, Friday Family Fiesta, Bournemouth Seafront – 10.00pm
-Friday 29th August, Bournemouth Air Festival, Bournemouth Seafront – 10.00pm
-Saturday 30th August, Bournemouth Air Festival, Bournemouth Seafront – 10.00pm
The summer is bidding us farewell, Guys!!! But, it doesn’t finish here. You can enjoy the summer events with your friends until the last weekend of August.
I am pretty sure that all of you have been hearing so many things about the massive event that is coming. Yes, The BOURNEMOUTH AIR FESTIVAL 2014 is coming. This festival is said to be the biggest air show in Europe, attracting large crowds of both tourists and locals, who often gather on the cliff tops for the best views. It will take place the last weekend of August, from the Thursday 28th August to the Sunday 31st August.
If you want to know something else about this huge event in Bournemouth, you won´t miss the next post, which will come flying to you soon!!!!!!!!
